Measures
Precautions
A healthy life can be achieved with breast cancer prevention measures;
- Every healthy woman should start performing monthly breast self-examinations from the age of 20.
- Women aged 20-39 should have a clinical breast examination every 3 years, and women over 39 should have one every year.
- From age 40 onwards, mammograms should be performed at regular intervals.
- For women aged 40-49, mammograms should be repeated every 1 or 2 years, depending on previous findings.
- For women aged 50 and over, mammograms should be performed annually.
- A personal calendar should be kept to record doctor appointments, self-examinations, and mammograms.
- Healthy lifestyle habits such as eating low-fat foods, exercising regularly, and avoiding tobacco and alcohol should be adopted and maintained.
