Mammography
- Breasts should be checked with mammography every 1 or 2 years between the ages of 40 and 50.
- This should be repeated annually from the age of 50 onwards.
- Individuals with high risk factors may begin mammographic screening earlier.
- If there are findings in the breast that require monitoring, mammograms should be performed at intervals deemed necessary by the physician.
How Should Mammography Be Performed?
- It should be performed in two directions.
- Sensitivity is low in breasts with high density.
