Cancer negatively affects not only the patient but also their closest circle, family, and friends. It is noted that women who have had mastectomies often feel sexually inadequate and incomplete in relation to their husbands, distancing themselves from them. Conversely, husbands often become overly protective of their wives, sometimes avoiding sexual intimacy due to concerns about their wife losing her femininity. It is a significant fact that male partners tend to react more negatively to discussions about mastectomy, and both women and men need emotional support.
Our association will provide individual and group psychological support and therapy sessions to help patients diagnosed with breast cancer, those undergoing mastectomy, and those who have already undergone mastectomy, as well as their families, cope with psychosocial problems…
