Prof. Dr. Beyza Özçınar is a General Surgery specialist and a respected academic and physician with international experience in breast diseases and endocrine surgery. After graduating from Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, she became a General Surgery specialist at Istanbul University; and received breast surgery training at international centers such as Melbourne, Royal Melbourne, and Cleveland Clinic. Currently working at the Department of General Surgery, Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Özçınar contributes to the field of breast health with her scientific studies and national and international publications; and as one of the founding members of the Breast Health Association (MEMEDER), she plays an active role in the association's work.

My name is Beyza Özçınar. I was born on September 1, 1978, in Bursa. I completed my primary education at Bursa 1. Murat Primary School and my secondary and high school education at Bursa Cumhuriyet High School. In 1995, I began my medical education at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine. After completing one year of English preparatory education and six years of medical training conducted entirely in English, I graduated in 2002.

On June 6, 2003, I started my medical specialty training in the Department of General Surgery at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. During my five-year residency, I served as an observer physician for three-month periods at the Breast Clinic of the Royal Melbourne Hospital, University of Melbourne, Australia, and at the Breast Clinic of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in the United States. I became a specialist in General Surgery on December 2, 2008.

In 2009, I began my PhD studies in Molecular Medicine at the Istanbul University Institute of Health Sciences, where I am currently continuing my doctoral education and am at the thesis stage. After completing my compulsory service at Diyarbakır Ergani State Hospital between 2009 and 2011, I worked as a General Surgery Specialist at Istanbul Memorial Hospital for one year.

Since February 14, 2012, I have been working as a General Surgery Specialist in the Department of General Surgery at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. In addition, since 2013, I have been pursuing a PhD in Medical Education at the Institute of Health Sciences of Ege University. My primary clinical interests include breast diseases and endocrine disorders.

I have authored 30 articles published in international journals and 15 articles published in national journals. I am a founding member of the Breast Health Association and one of the initiators of the project. I am currently actively working as a volunteer member of MEMEDER.
